This is my current crush’s fave band so I felt inclined to explore their stuff a bit.
I saw that Mark from Spectrum Pulse gave this record a 4/10 and called it super unoriginal and dull, which I don’t get at all. They possess the general production aesthetic of modern indie folk/pop, sure, but I think they are considerably more creative and unique with their song themes and the textures they create than most indie acts today.

The production is sublime, specially when you link it to the album's concept. How the voices are sometimes distorted to reflect his increasingly vanishing memories is sublime imo. Algernon still destroys me.

This is their most ambitious project, but White Lighter is definitely their masterpiece. I'd check that record out too, Longshot.

Yeah, this fell off a bit after the initial emotional impact. The album has some incredible moments but the whole experience doesn't really live up to them. It just sort-of putters along at parts. Might drop my score another notch.
