I'm digging the bonuses though. Somehow liked them more than the CD.

I guess I was pretty tired because the album is still good, lots of details to listen carefully to. Not their best, missing some epic moments like the cleans of Farewell, but damn decent nonetheless. This is between a 3.5 and a 4 for me, will put it at 3.5 and see if I need to raise it.

Dunno what y’all are smoking...this is a great Summoning record. Return to form after the okay Old Morning ‘s Dawn record.

I like OMD above Lugburz and below the rest of the discography.

This is essentially a dungeon synth record with occasional black metal tremolo and vocals

these green covered oath bound sounding albums are getting a bit dull but i bet this is still good. that does sound enticing enough.

Old Mornings Dawn must be my favourite Summoning album. Either that one or Dol Guldur.

My first journey through this was annoying. The production is dubious and the structure of the songs sounds lazy and uninspired. I will listen this more times and see what changes in my conclusion. Might be a surprise with more spins.

A 2? You better jam this more and reconsider

Yeah, i'll have to do that. It's like a routine to me to don't like some BM and ABM records on a first jam. This happened to me with Windir last year, but now, 1184 is one of the best records of the genre to me.

“What’s bad about that”

Nothing, it’s cool, but just was expecting more black metal going in haha
