This album is good but my opinion on it has definitely lowered. I think it's a 3.5. I don't really think either of the long songs really earn their length. USA is just bland to me and Let Them Win has a weak beginning.



However there are some top-tier Rosenstock songs on here, like 9/10, Yr Throat, and TV Stars.



I think he rushed this one a bit. It's a good album but doesn't really stand up to Vacation, Three Cheers or WORRY.

Agreed. The short, poppy songs are mostly pretty good though. His last two albums are definitely better but this was still fun.

honestly i think you have to let the song lengths earn you, like it didnt make too much sense to me on first listen but after i kinda took the context of the record and immersed myself more into it, the songs started to appear as giant masterpieces with purpose in every move

I’ve heard the album several times now. Honestly the second half of USA works for me but the first half leaves a little to be desired. But Jeff definitely still has his typically great songwriting chops on display for a chunk of this.
