Any of their albums from Transmissions to Yoshimi would give them a lifetime pass on their own tbh

"The Mokran mix of Buggin' is better than the original.....fight me"
you're not wrong, but that's the only Mokran mix that's better (absolutely butchered Superman especially). Buggin' works because it's a silly, lightweight pop song anyway so the extra gloss makes it shine, but the other two songs were perfect as they are
...man between that and removing maybe the best song from the tracklist, the label really fucked this on the first release lol. so glad the Aus release has Slow Motion

Actually prefer the remix of Waitin for a superman. Those vocal harmonies do it for me

Recently performed race for the prize on Stephen Colbert and it was phenomenal. The beefed up orchestration sounded so good

'you're not wrong, but that's the only Mokran mix that's better (absolutely butchered Superman especially).'
I wouldn't go that far, but that's just my opinion. I could take either version of the other Mokran mixes, honestly - I like both them and the originals for various reasons. Agreed that Buggin' is the only one that's decisively superior.

the extra harmonies are what ruin his remix of Superman for me, lol. I can see why people like them, but the whole reason that's one of my favourite songs... ever is because Wayne's voice sounds so fragile and lonely. take that away and it gets a lot more generic ballad-y

have you peeped the live Soft Bulletin with a symphony album from last year? literally gave me goosebumps at a few points (even though they didn't play Slow Motion smfh)

do you have a reason for the 4.8? like is it a case of would be a five but... or is there no active retraction of 0.2 involved its just is a 4.8

I don't even know, the weird-ass tracklisting I guess lol. the 5.1 release of this is a straight 5 for me, Slow Motion where it should be and I much prefer Buggin' and Spiderbite as bonuses - great individual tunes but I don't think they fit the aesthetic here

yeah that makes sense. i sorta hate when an album has like 5 different tracklistings let alone some releases having extra tracks, especially when they get tacked on at the end. however i super love spiderbite

"spiderbite song" is one of my mom's favorites, gotta love it

I think Buggin' was probably the song where the brilliance of this album first snapped into focus for me, definitely wouldn't put it amongst my favorites on here nowadays but it earns its place on the track list, I feel.
