You're right e21, it's the first time we disagree that much about an album. In the ''recommended by reviewer'' section, I would add Bubu - Anabelas (1978), another one-shot obscure prog album where we also find ''organized chaos'' at places, but at the opposite of Island, album is warm and harmonious. I think if Island had decided to sound friendly and melodious, it would be similar to Bubu.
If you wanna hear ''Empty Bottles'', it's at the 49th minute;

Song is warmer than everything found on Pictures, and it's quite jazzy and closer to the style of Bubu.

Yeah, "Anabelas" of Bubu would have been a great choice to recommend, indeed. I opted by other albums because the influences suffered by Island. "Pawn Hearts" and "Acquiring The Taste" are most weird and difficult albums by both bands, "Islands" becuase its ibfluence of the jazz mood and the name of the band and "Brain Salad Surgery" because the cover was also made by Giger.
Thanks for the link my friend. I'm going to listen to it, surelly.

Informative review as always, pos. This album needed one. It's definitely my favorite of the last prog tourney, it creates the kind of sinister atmosphere that I really dig, especially the last 4 minutes of Herold and King. I also absolutely love the title track from 0:45 onwards, very captivating textures.
It seems the album was recorded in Milan! :D

I absolutely agree, Sabrutin. I didn't know the album was recorded in your city. Nice.
Thanks, man.

The bonus track is what they did best. It reminds me some good Yezda Urfa with a bit of jazzy vibes thrown in.
