Why are we still expecting Morbid Angel to sound like it's 30 years ago? This is in line with what they've been doing, Illud aside. And it's really quite good.

I wonder if this Vltimas thing grew out of Eriksen and Mounier's work with Nader Sadek.

Well I really like the churning Architect and Iconoclast riffs near the end as well as that melodic lead at the end of The Pillars Crumbling. Also about a minute into Felm the Hand of Kings just to name a few

It doesn’t quite make it up there with my faves but I also think their stuff with Tucker is better than their classic stuff tbh. I dig the hell out of Formulas, Gateways and Heretic
