After giving Mother a second listen, I can say that I think it's their worst album since All Things Set Aside. With that being said, I still think it's mostly decent.

Holy shit their new album is so fucking bad. So disappointing because I really loved False Idol and Matriarch. A few years ago they released some singles which were really good as well. I don't know why they missed the mark on this one so much.

It honestly feels like they were given a deadline of 1 week to get an album out the door and this is what they came up with.

Vegan was the only single i really vibed with

Listening to it now, it feels like they were tryna do some modern mainstream version of eclipse with cleans but it isnt quite working. If they cut back on the cleans and vary the riffs a little bit, this could honestly be really good.

New album is pretty good other than the cleans imo. At least in the background during strenuous activity or w/e.

There's definitely some great moments. So far it's better than I thought it'd be

I JUST came here to say that haha. [re]connect makes it worth a listen on its own.

It’s just a djentburger

I gave it another listen today. Not quite as bad as my initial couple listens but this is still a pretty big downgrade from their previous stuff.

I will say I feel like the vocal production on this album is not good? Feels like something is way off with the clean vocals which really kills the hooks for me. Dude has some monster growls though, I'll give him that.

lukas's cleans sound horrible on it (and his melodies bar [re]connect which is some decent deftonescore are nothing to write home about either) but the his screaming is overall the best part of the album. dude honestly sounds insane

most of the non album singles wouldnt fit on the new one imo. viscera fits the vibe pretty decently but the other songs seem like theyd be out of place, esp members only and outrun (also outrun kinda sucks)

I dont think it's better than previous albums, but I think the direction they are headed with it has the potential to be much better as it calls back more to their older material. If they pull back on the cleans vary the riffs more, they could have something special honestly

They have a way different style than Currents. I'd say they're a lot closer to Periphery. That said, this album is still not good, have felt 0 urge to spin after the first 3 attempts.
