It's also almost 80 minutes long. Wow..... Yeah I'll give this journey a go

the key change in funeral post is so lazy

^agreed hard.
Also, "Moon-Dream" is... not good.

Oh man that key change. Totally unnecessary. The song was doing fine as it was and just hitting the chorus again in the same key would have been great. They created a problem for themselves when they didn't need to.

didn't realize he lost his girlfriend+child 13 years ago in addition to his friend's recent death (which is connected in a way)
he's been through hell and back :/

Lol I like how Imaginary Enemy still ranks last in your list
Glad that you dig Lies for the Liars more now.

this opening track "For You" was pretty bad

the opener seems to be the most polarizing cut here

bert decided he didn't like me i think and that's why he signed my used shirt on the back instead of the front with the other members. maybe it's cuz i asked him to sign both my shirt and poster... or maybe he wanted people to see there was something special on the back of the shirt when i wore it instead of just a vanilla yellow color...

"the key change in funeral post is so lazy"
how can a key change be lazy? all key changes involve like, the exact same amount of effort to do? also that moment is great

just can't get over the terrible mixing and production quality. Shit needs a remaster like yesterday

. There's no big narrative needed, because all of The Canyon exists in that second after the crushing wave hits when you're rooted to the spot, and know that a part of you will be there forever. An album which simply allows itself to be washed over, and take it all in. To simply be. In a time when even being must hurt like hell, that's one hell of a gift to give to the world.
What the fuck does this even mean lol.

"how can a key change be lazy?"
I also consider key changes to be lazy and often horrible. Most songs would benefit from cutting that extra chorus out.

I have to agree, not a fan of the key change at all. sorta derails the impact of the last chorus IMO.

That is actually the first key change I go to for horrible key changes, so yes :p

row key changes are lazy if like there's barely any set up and it feels like kind of a jarring shift making it feel like its there for no reason
in this case, it's literally just a harmonic in the first key, and then out of nowhere BAM f# major. would've preferred it if it was just in F major the whole song, would feel much more effective
its nitpicking tho i love this album
