Idk if you guys have seen that or not but it’s one of my favorite live show sets I’ve ever seen. They hang these weights from Colin’s skin by hooks and then he sings a couple songs before taking them out, and they close with solitary reign. The lights, the backdrop, the black and white... it’s all so fucking powerful.

@Botb Yeah I was at that show there were peeps passing out and shit it was crazy. Its the only time theyve played 'A solitary reign' also (they might have dont it at the warm up show a few days earlier before the release show) Was the longest set theyve done and also with the 2 layered visuals and shit. Unfortunately as when bands get bigger you get more and more dickheads at shows and that was one of them where some fat guy with his tits out was moshing alone smashing into girls and shit , I grabbed him and told him to settle down there was a bro square off, I should have moved but I didnt and it basically ruined the show for me. Sore point. But in like 20 times seeing them play I think that was the best Ive seen despite not being my favourite

that converge+neurosis+amenra tour must be the best set of three bands ever to perform live in one show. they just never came close to where i live though so fuck em i guess

Im a bit 'meh' with Converge live shows these days. Theyre always good of course but seen them so may times and so many chaotic ones back in the day that I just dont care that much. The 'You fail me' set at Roadburn was probably my favourite in recent years.

My 2 fave bands. And I have friends in both bands so I dont like deciding 'whos best' Its really hard to split but for sheer body of work (and that comes with time) Neurosis have like 7 phenomenal albums and a few pretty good ones still and Amenra have like 4 ridiculous albums and a few bits and pieces. So Neurosis will always be the godfathers for me. No other bands hit me on a level that Amenra and Neurosis do though.
