I have listened to the debut and the four main Knife albums a lot, this was supposed to be at least great for me. I just have to get used to the idea ‘Silent Shout’ was a one off classic for me that won’t get repeated.

The ‘Silent Shout’-y tunes on this are the best.

Also I do love the irony of Pots saying people are too old for this when the artist/s who made the music are significantly older than me...?

Also when ‘Silent Shout’ came out I was prob the same age or younger than he is now :D

Silent shout is indeed a classic, but i think I'm more drawn to sth these days. Raging lung is possibly my favourite knife song, along with colouring of pigeons and tomorrow, in a year.

Just listening to 'Silent Shout' for the first time in ages...first two songs still wipe the floor with anything on here for me...and I like the whole album to about the same degree give or take.

That's why I couldn't really rate any subsequent Knife/Fever Ray album close to the 4.5 I've awarded that album.

I'm not saying it's 'objectively' better than what followed - I just prefer the approach and by quite a large margin.

'Deep Cuts' would be my second favourite release by her too.

i really enjoy moon and back but don't think it's the best here. prob too early to rate the tracks, but they all rate very high for me. not much of a disparity there

Best song is definitely between Moon and Back, Red Trails and Mama's Hand for me

Wanna Sip just sounds like an intro track with a nice sound effect wedged in - doesn't do much for me beyond that, surprised if anyone gets anything major from it

But boy, does that sound effect get the blood pumping.

It's a good effect and an effective start to the album, it does the job...but it definitely isn't one of the stronger moments here

Mama’s Hands is a great song but a lot of the others wash past me

her voice, particularly the slightly odd soulful turns she takes with it sometimes, salvage a lot of the otherwise generic electronic shite happening in the background.. still, half of this is more than solid..
