this album kinda recontextualizes and trumps beck's colors for me in this year's pop escapism.

nice to have something light like this, songwriting and lyrics wise there's little emotionally captivating but there's a lot of funny lines, intentional or unintentional. the melodies scratch an itch for me and i like a lot of the sounds and productions, some really sharp drum sounds esp.

colors scratched a similar itch for me but that album actually is a little self-serious and tries to go for mellower, sentimental moments + the production isn't polished, it's sterile. pacific daydream is glossy af but there's a lot of sounds and moments that pop and are total ear-candy for me.
