A few listens later, and I don’t hate Zombie Bastards nearly as much. Not sure about the ultra bright production, but there’s definitely something there. Very torn on this one. A lot of the lyrics seem dumb as hell, but maybe they’re meant to be sort of ironic? I really cant decide what I think of this. Can’t Knock the Hustle is clearly the better song a mile, but this one isn’t as abysmal as I initially thought.

It's an excellent rock album. There are no "proofs" in genre discussions. The point is that PD and Zombie Bastards are drastically different and of lower quality than White, and so it's not a delusion to think that Weezer are still capable of making a great rock album when they already did little over 2 years ago.
