Thinking my favourite part of the album is the last two minutes of ‘Rome’

Sleeping on ‘Rome’, that’s the most evocative instrumental work on the album imo

‘Ivory Coast’ has grown on me too, and ‘cover from the sun’ is genius track pacing from Dan

This is pretty obviously the album closest to ‘Kaputt’ in style and appeal...so its officially my second favourite Destroyer after fifteen listens

Serious.

You actually like the second half of ‘Rubies’? Snooze fest for me.

To be my second favourite it only needed to beat ‘Poison Season’.

not my problem you don't find stuff like Watercolours into the Ocean captivating but Rome is somehow ~the deepest of deep cuts~

The weakest tune in this is track 10 and that’s still pretty dope, consistent as all fuck album.

Plus, real atmosphere on this one. Atmosphere to rival ‘Kaputt’.

Want the hyperbolic quote? The Blade Runner 2049 of albums right here

so, the weaker sequel to the movie that never needed one

so, essentially, a watered down Kaputt

‘Rubies’ is front loaded to all hell, no one will convince me otherwise.

I don’t know what’s surprising about me liking this so much when I most enjoy the ‘Kaputt’ style from Destroyer, logical I’d think, nay inevitable

I fully expect you to have an Eli av soon because you ain't no Daniel Plainview

I got a big ass straw and I ain't afraid to use it, doof (of course it isn't surprising, but this is nowhere near stuff like Rubies, Kaputt or even Poison Season)
