Ok, first, this is amazing.
Second, I think it's pretty accesible due to the amount of quiet parts and melodic voices. Yes the length is intimidating but seriously, relax, strap the cover to your face and let it flow through you.

whoah fwoarh people rating an album lower than a 4 in a genre that prides itself on emotional resonance wtf how its almost like emotional resonance is difficult to gauge because it might be something that drastically changes from person to person i guess if you dont resonate with this one particular breed of funeral doom you just arent into funeral doom haha rip you buddy !!! :DDDDD

For me the issue isn't the music or the aesthetic at all, if it was 40 mins I would have considered a 4/5. It's that the additional 40 mins don't contribute anything substantive so it gets real tedious by the end.

My goal at the moment is to get through this whole thing. 10:00 in and definitely digging the atmosphere. Funeral doom can be exhausting, and one 83 minute long song sounds pretty daunting, but this is captivating so far.

maybe to zone out to? there's not a whole lot going on in its 80 min run time. actively listening to it would bore me to tears - it's like listening to the disintegration loops: great as a means to get you in the zone to study or do chores, terrible for everything else

First thoughts after listening to the whole thing. The review for this is well written, but I found this to be a very engaging listen for funeral doom. I agree there are some select amazing moments littered throughout, but I think it is tied together quiet well and the atmosphere hits hard. A 2.9 for an album executed so well in this style is probably too low of a score.
I still think the album cover is the most amazing thing I've seen all year, but I don't think this album reaches the same level of horror that the cover displays. For me it evoked more of an introspective feeling, but on the other hand I do think the color palette matches the music quiet well.
Overall good stuff! They've earned themselves a new fan.
