Sometimes I think I'm a killer, I scared you in your house

I even scared myself by talking about Dahmer on your couch

This line is absolutely heartbreaking.

Okay, anyone that likes this album but hasn't jammed Shawn Colvin's A Few Small Repairs needs to get on that asap

I own that album, I actually picked the CD up at a garage sale a few months ago. Need to listen more because Sunny Came Home is a nostalgic 90s track but haven't given the whole thing the time it likely deserves

Haha my parents used to play A Few Small Repairs all the time when I was a kid, so there are a lot of nostalgic tracks on that album. Also really explains my taste in music as an adult.

There are just too many albums I'm in love with this year. Any other year this would be top three material but I may have to end up putting it in the back half of the top ten.

Just checked this out on a whim. Really loved the first two tracks and "Georgia" but thought the rest was a bit too by-the-book indie-folk. She's got a great voice and the instrumentation was really pretty but I think it could've been a bit more distinctive. Also thought "You Missed My Heart" was pretty lame, especially as a closer.

Am I crazy to have heard some Christine Fellows influence?

EDIT: Didn't realize You Missed My Heart was a cover. Oops

I like it as a closer. Yeah, it’s a Sun Kil Moon cover

That's how I felt as well. A very promising 3.5 debut.

I think Scott Street is as interesting as Georgia in the way it builds, though those tracks (Smoke Signals, Motion Sickness and Georgia) are definitely the highlights for me, too. That said, I think the serial killer narrative that presents itself in the latter half of the album keeps things interesting, and I'm still in awe of how perfect a closer You Missed My Heart is.
