I think The Mindsweep had a good balance between their softer and heavier sides. This isn't awful but I think it's just a bit too far from their root's for me. I miss their heavy side :/

That's fair enough. I think I was ready for a change from them to be honest and they absolutely nail the style they were going for imho. Airfield and An Ode to Lost Jigsaw Pieces are fucking beautiful.

Holy shit. When Common Dreads came out, it was all I listened to on my iPod. It was hyperactive and faux-edgy enough to satisfy me at 19 years old. I used to have a 35 minute bike ride to work. Some shifts at 5am. I have a lot of good memories of sweating my ass off pedaling to work in pitch-black listening to them. And I don't think I've given any of their material since a shot. Maybe this is worth checking out.

Nomos, check out Mindsweep. It has some of the Common Dreads' vitriol and as you said, hyperactivity, yet feels more complete and more mature. You won't find that much energy here, though it still is a solid album.

I'm actually thinking of bumping this, Jigsaw Pieces and Shinrin-yoku are easily 2 of the best songs they've ever done. just drop Redshift in instead of Country and you've got their best album
