I think the band essentially being a side hustle for at least half the members at this point is a big reason why it's stuck around so long. They can focus on and do other things, but if they have an itch to tour or make another album they can do that too. It's probably easier and more fun to keep a band like this going when it isn't your only source of income.
Also gotta imagine they get a larger cut from their recordings, merch, etc. than most bands since they produce a lot of that themselves/through their own businesses.

From what I have heard they are working on new material. They have talked about Blood Moon stuff and since they released "I Won't Let You Go" recently they clearly are working on Converge-only stuff as well. Ben Koller recorded 24 songs recently but he didn't say for which bands.

Fuck I cant wait for original Blood Moon material. Converge + Chelsea Wolfe are a perfect match.

I'd much rather see Converge+Julie Christmas but yeah Blood Moon's gonna be lit

That’d be cool too but I like Chelsea a lot more personally.
I think that’s in large part due to her having Ben Chrisholm too. They’re both just too good together.

I find it funny that the only album these guys decided needed re-recording is the only album I liked by them. Feel that this ruined the unique and gritty sound of the original

"Feel that this ruined the u̶n̶i̶q̶u̶e̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶g̶r̶i̶t̶t̶y̶ mediocre sound of the original" fix'd

Mediocre - bad production, sure. But fitting with the insane vocals and raw style of this album

No way. This album hits way harder now. Yet still lets the original mix sit as it's own take on this record. Kinda cool.

I love the original production of this. Vocals were creepier and the atmosphere richer. Unfortunately, though it improved some tracks, the redux made the best tracks on the original worse. I mostly listen to the original, and sometimes to this one when I want a cleaner and more polished sounding take on the material.

I guess it’s nice to give folks options

I like seeing love for the original

I honestly don't think the original sounds all that different, mostly just a little messier which I don't think a band this aggressive really needs
I personally prefer the redux but I wouldn't be heartbroken if I woke up tomorrow and it had never happened yanno

I find the over the board technicality and punchiness of converges production annoying, so it was super nice to see this peeled back on the original

Might be starting to prefer this to Jane Doe in some respects

dont like the production on the OG, think this is way better. OG still amazing tho, but with this out I can't help see it as a bunch of fantastic songs somewhat sabotaged by their treatment
