Wow what the fuck is this discussion page

its funny that I found myself slightly peeved for some reason about pitchfork giving the new one a 6.1 cuz my view has always been that there's no there there with this band. not sure what CMG so loved, every song sounds the same and even "seasons" is only ok to me. probably bumps it up a few points that it's one of the few "indie" songs that my dad loves. but somehow regarding pitchfork *marge simpson voice* "it's true, but he shouldn't say it"

it took me a really long time, but i am warming up to Future Islands a lot, always saw them as a singles band (which they understand, hence the title) and no real deep cut power

but this thing has some genuine bangers in the mix as well as thoughtful intimate cuts

"Fall From Grace" is a beast

I still haven't actually listened to this , but every now and then I put on the performance of Seasons on Letterman. That song hits the spot.
