Nice sound off ;-)

Nah just playing, when I opened this review I feared a guargantuan review (somehow that would befit the album) - solely two sharp paragraphs is actually surpisingly fresh to read.

I do wonder: how do you think the album compares to Stellar?

Fuck this is soooo damn good. Might even surpass Stellar and I consider that one a modern BM classic that's how good Finisterre is.

I watched the live session of Der stille flusse the other day and it was a great intro to this band

The lyrics on this vary between amazing and cringeworthy but for the most part they are pretty good. I also like that the bass drum actually sounds like a bassdrum and isn't clipped to shit

Cringeworthy? Where? I think they're really good, very poetic. Which actually makes them very hard to translate accurately, so if you're not a native speaker (I am), you might mistake a bad translation for bad lyrics.

Btw I could try to translate the lyrics if anyone would be interested.

No I'm a native speaker. I think especially the lyrics of "Ein letzter Tanz" are amazing (the bassist wrote them if I'm not mistaken) and the final Verses of the t/t as well but some lines seem pretty forced just so they have rhymes (which is quite useless because nobody actually cares about rhymes in black metal).

For example in "Skepsis Part II":

ich rase zu Grunde, verbreite die Kunde

doch die Skepsis ist groß, man wird sie nicht los

ich suche die Hand, die uns einst verband

bevor es alles verschwand

Nocte Obducta bleiben meiner Meinung nach die Könige der Poesie im deutschen Black Metal Bereich.

Yo I'm pretty unversed in black metal and this is dope. If I like this, what should I check out next?
