this is pretty much what I always wanted in a brand new album after tdag. daisy grew on me hard over the years but it's the more melodic side of brand new that gets me. still has some of the dissonance and weirdness but the songwriting here is fantastic. the best they ever were.

Daisy is probably my favorite BN album now tbh. TDAG’s highs are higher but it has an inconsistent second half. This would come 3rd for me, love some of these songs and always skip some others (Eg Same Logic) The only song I don’t like on Daisy is At the Bottom, so it’s the most consistent listen for me.

first TDAG was my favorite, then Daisy was my favorite for a long time, and now i think this might tie with Daisy.

This and TDAG fill different roles for me. TDAG is one of my go-to angsty rock records, while this is more of a complete artistic statement with a full musical palette. Like the same reason I would listen to Pink Floyd, even tho that’s a lofty comparison.

They definitely studied the classics in making this album. I hear the Smiths, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, even Fleetwood Mac.

I still think this thing is really flawed, IMO almost every song has at least one clunky lyric and musically it's not cohesive at all. Still good though.

This flows perfectly for me.

I hear the “one clunky lyric per song” complaint, but to me that’s the most minor complaint possible, especially when compared to the sheer number of wonderful ideas this album presents, and thus only -.5

The flow is perfect.

butt.

lol those are my favorite songs from each album. not sure how it's possible to dislike either of those tracks

also not sure I can even agree with one clunky lyric per song? what's the clunky lyric in Lit Me Up? Could Never Be Heaven? In the Water? Batter Up?

Agreed this is their best. TDAG is very close though.
