Alien I think is the perfect example of a song dominated by subtlety. It's not the most captivating musically at its basic roots, but when combined together with the vocal performance and lyrics, it's really gripping. I come back to that and "Lead, SD" the most

The only songs I've learned off this are alien to sunshine to grocery but damn what a trifecta

Yeah I'm closer to Bristol and usually go to gigs there but already had something on the Saturday so crashed at my mates in Hove. Support were... okay - grew into it for sure but I don't think i'd be interested in listening to them on record

just because Cope was a terrible failure doesn't mean that they should give up rocking altogether

someone help me, whenever I read this album's title it's to the tune of the verse of "Top Notch"

where he sings "an ungodly decision" I hear "a black mile to the surface" instead

I jammed The Silence and Take It On The Run by REO Speedwagon back to back and nothing will ever be okay again.

Album jams hard, definitely a contender for AOTY. Great review as well.

Jams pretty softly. Gonna give it another solid listen today or tomorrow.

People who say "jams hard" to refer specifically to an album's quality are fucking morons
