"rongai na ikimono toshite" was alright, I liked the groove the chorus had.

Apparently they are playing 8 string guitars now? Lol. This album is going in a much more alt metal direction going by the last couple songs.

If the production isn't shit 8 strings could be a good move, curious to know how that will turn out since their heavy stuff previously isn't based around brooding heavy chugs.

Oh. Oh damn. Just that transition from “Hidauta” to “Junboku, Muku de Arou Ga” is so seamless and beautiful in its understatement...

I might be in love with this.

The ending to Hidauta is glorious, one of the best parts on here. Too many standout tracks on this.

For real, this is giving me heavy 9GBO vibes in places, specifically in the atmospherics; so far this is flowing better too than “Immortalis”. Loving it that Kyo feels more comfortable here in just singing without having to inject uncleans in the songs. On “En” now, and if this keeps up, it’s a slam dunk 4.5, and if it can nail the second half for my tastes, this’ll no question be a 5.

The album doesn't fall off in quality, hype to see your reaction to kubitsuri yuugu and the first 3 minutes of naburi.

The way Naburi plays on the acoustic guitar was giving me vibes similar to the acoustic lead in to the chorus of DEG’s “Different Sense”, where it’s switching up into something more tranquil but no less emotive, and then the last two minutes were an excellent left turn. Kubitsuri Yuugu caught me a smidge off guard by introducing the hip hop beat about 3/4 of the way through. That one and the next, “Saredo Michizure” felt like a demented carnival ride inside the world of Max Headroom.

Calling it here, I haven’t finished it yet (gotta go back to work), but this is a 5. No doubt about it.

Nice, have fun with the last three tracks. Hysteria sets up the closer so well.

Knew you'd love this :]

I'd highly recommend the Blu Ray from the limited edition of this as well, it's got a pretty raw and great 80 minutes of live footage of Immortalis/Vitium songs and some other cool stuff.

I’m listening to the second disc, which is the collaborations disc, and greatly enjoying that as well.

I never like the collaborations personally (minus Toshi's due to his tragic life in a cult), seems like an excuse for Kyo to play karaoke with his fav musicians.

Well, the collab with Gara from MERRY was kind of a no-brainer lol, considering their history. With the exception of the remix and the collab with Konta, I liked the collaborations.

Anyone know where I could potentially preorder their new one without paying an arm and a leg? Are there other versions, or is it just the one I found on CDJapan that’s the 2-disc + Blu-ray?

Yeah, Gara needs to be noticed by his senpai, heh. I wished Merry (Gara's band) got a bit of love on this site and in general, overlooked band despite me personally not being the biggest fan.

There are two editions of the new album, one of them is the limited edition which is the 2 disc + Blu Ray version you are referring to. A month after they're releasing a regular CD version of the album, which will be available in general Japanese stores. Adoratio will also be repressed for general stores at the same time as well, so you can get a regular CD for that too. Unless you want to spend £100 (not exaggerating) I don't recommend trying to get the limited edition of this.

Yeah, at ~ $73 to start with, and factoring in uninsured airmail delivery, that’s another $11-$12. Do I want it bad enough?

Got some thinking to do...

Also, yeah, shoutout to MERRY; used to jam them around 2010-2013-ish before falling off, definitely one of the bands that helped solidify my interest in Jrock.

Going off on a slight tangent only because he recently released a new solo album, can anyone imagine how a collab with kyo and Morrie (Creature Creature) would sound?

@Uzumaki: Sorry to break your heart buddy but it's even more expensive than you thought it was. If you scroll down on CD Japan you realise you're not buying it from their stock, they're buying from another site for you at which you have to pay extra. Their fees for proxy are dumb so I do not recommend it. The limited editions are only sold at Galaxy Broad Shop, which has horrific overseas shipping. Your only reasonable option is to use a Japanese address when you order it form Blackship (a proxy service) and get them to send it to you once it has arrived to them, which would cost an extra $4-5 probably.

As for whether to buy it, I would wait until official trailers/studio mixes of the songs come out. The bonus Blu Ray has Adoratio songs live so that's very encouraging. If it does end up as good as this and it's sold out before you attempt to buy it you will regret it though; getting the limited edition of Adoratio now is near impossible.
