Fuccckkkk this is starting to grow on me. Cut and Run is still garbage though. Drop that song and reconfigure the track listing and you've got yourself at least a 4.

Cut & Run reminds me of My Disaster on Arrivals & Departures. They kinda copied their own riff from back then. Also Last Looks has a section sounding almost exactly like the main riff from Congratulations by Sleeping With Sirens, which itself is copied from another song I don't remember now. Neverthless, album rocks. Wake Up is a prime example for how to use screams in a powerful way instead of tacking them everywhere randomly.

I honestly can't believe Silverstein is still a thing. I remember picking up 'When Broken Is Easily Fixed' when it first came out & didn't think much of it. It was merely a serviceable album in a sea of bands that sounded just like them at the time. Did they improve past that?

That chorus riff in Stand Amid The Roar is one of my favorite riffs

I just don't understand why everybody finds IAAIEIT to be a letdown. I really loved that album, it's one of my favourites from their discography. A Midwestern State Of Emergency, Face of the Earth, HHP, TCC, Je Me Souviens are all awesome. Why do you guys disagree?

Anyway I really like this new album so far

surprised these guys are still writing great music. I feel like it's getting harder in this genre to remain relevant

Anyone else think Whiplash is a banger?

"surprised these guys are still writing great music. I feel like it's getting harder in this genre to remain relevant"

it is because everything is morphing into a homogenous blob of the same guitar tone produced exactly in the same fashion and an infinity of similar sounding vocalists doing the same boring shit
(which is pretty much the same thing happening to metalcore - this shit is starting to mesh)

or bands trying to ride the Fall of Troy, DGD train which are often just way less interesting the vocals department and overdo the cleans
