will sowingseason ever surprise me

I will say some tracks feel a bit underdeveloped/they end a bit too soon resulting in a moderately dulled impact.

this is his signature. literally never going to change

On my third listen now, still hasn't impressed me all that much, it's beautiful and i love the melancholic sound, but i have yet to connect to the songs

Otherside is song of the year. That climax omg. It's like he came all over the universe.

It took a few listens for a lot of the tracks in the middle to click with me, it's a dense listen that covers a lot more ground than his past releases. Another thing about Perfume Genius -- and this was even more prevalent in Learning -- is that a huge part of it, particularly sonically, feels so alien. He's moved away from the reverb-soaked sound of his first album to a large extent, and he sounds so much more confident here, but I don't think that will ever disappear from his music. It helps that I can't relate personally to most of his struggles as well.

Ah, I see. This is my first Perfume Genius album so I wouldn't know. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference then.

This was a great listen, reminds me of hospice by the antlers. production is really something else at certain points I'd go so far as to say there's some Kid A vibes here
