How can one person have so many wrong opinions

definitely not their best, but snide doesn't really do complex, so this makes sense for him.
this has grown on me a lot since this came out.

Snide hates on the post hardcore like this (well their earlier work) smh

Yeah I also think this is the best they've ever put out. It's so much more focused and passionate and restrained. Don't mind their old stuff, and I love post-hardcore, but it never clicked for me. Then I heard this, and this felt like the record they were born to make.
It also takes a lot for a record to click with me on such a level. Some boxes need to be checked off:
[✔] Vocalist that doesn't annoy me and knows their range
[✔] Impressive instrumentals that don't just wank off and know how to complement eachother
[✔] Plenty of vocal melodies and hooks
[✔] Mature lyricism
It all just coalesced into something wonderful for me. Bonus points for lyrics I can discern without needing to check a website. Extra bonus points for even a single song that I make a deep connection with lyrically. I was going through a decade-delayed second-wave of an existential crisis when I first heard this one. A lot of what Cory wrote here really clicked with me. Above all, that closing track. Passionate writing that takes the words from my mouth.
Love this.
Upped from a 4 to 4.5

For Shelley (Unheard) and The Sound Of Us are my two favorites off of this.

Those are my favorites as well, especially For Shelley
I do think they have something special with this sound tho. They experimented with it and did well, and they have a lot of potential to make something spectacular with their next album for sure. This just isn't what I want from A Lot Like Birds tho, but they wanted to make this so I have to acknowledge that fact

See, I honestly couldn't get into A Lot Like Birds before this. It's not that it was bad, I just didn't enjoy the style they were going for previously. (A case of I like the individual parts but not them assembled as a whole) kinda thing.

I just want another track like Next To Ungodliness sometime in the future, if they revisited their old sound every now and then I think it'd be a great clash of sound

I've heard so little from the press and other people about this record that I assumed they didn't press vinyl copies.
I was wrong.
Shipping to my house now.
Stoked.
Probably in my top 5 of 2017

So, why did Kurt leave the band again? Didn't he walk in on the other dude getting singing lessons and found out they were preparing for a mainstream push?

Also, I can't listen to this crap. Everything is flat. Vocals and instruments. This is terrible

They showed him the demos for the album and he wasn't vibing with the material at all. They weren't willing to compromise, so he walked. Breaks my heart that he left but thank fucking god he wasn't a part of this shitstain.

There's no way this is even close to a 1-2 rating lol you guys are on meth.

I feel that way about everyone who has this higher than a 3 or considers this their best material.

Oh it's nowhere near their best but I love it for what it is.

I find this offensively bad, but I guess I'm glad you enjoy it.
Also, what was your avatar before? Pennywise is seriously throwing me off because I recognize most users by their avatars and not their names.

It was Captain Spaulding for like 5 or 6 years so I decided it was time for a change haha.

I was literally listening to it and it was so bad. It gave me that feeling when you get so mad but you can't do anything with it, and you feel like punching the shit out of a wall. This is awful. The most flat, stale, annoying piece of crap ever.
