Purpendicular has Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming and that alone is worth the price of admission.

Not a bad album after all, I might even bump this in the future.

The album has some good moments. Birds of Prey ending solo and The Surprising are my personal highlights.

Jamming right now and I just noticed how gracefully Gillan has aged. The days he could put those high pitched screaming vocals may be way behind him, but damn, at the age of 71, he can truly sing like a blues/soul master.

He has that character that many vocalists lack and sings within his comfort zone which is a good thing because when he was trying to do more that he could it was cringeworthy.

I would have expected Steve Morse to save this, but it doesn't have any replay value for me

Hahah yeah he always delivers. It has its ups and downs, as expected. The songs with progressive touches are my favorites. If I get some free time in the next few days, I may review it.

I love the news that their new album rocks hard. Deep Purple have never been my all time favorite band and they will never be. But I have so much respect for these guys. It's amazing to see musicians of their age still rocking like 18 year olds. After all this time and so many albums they've put forth.
Much respect.
