sounding like BJM is still pretty cool. somehow I managed to not ever listen to them until like maybe a month ago and I'm loving them. its weird cause they're like super up my alley but yeah its been fun jamming their stuff. I hear them get called a 60s revival band a lot but to me they're very very much spacemen 3 inspired which is maybe why you guys hit their wavelength aiming for S3. but yea its a very intellegent, lowkey psychedelia that seeps into the music... no crazy synth effects or whispering guitars, just a perfect translation of people on drugs making killer rock music

Haha, not a problem, they deserve to be talked about much more.. I've got an album in my reviews that the guy from BJM did with a singer, it's got some heady instrumentation on it.. check it out once you're done sifting through BJM.. How fucking good is methodrone though?!?

dang does this review get tripped on its own pseudo-intellectuality, considering we will treat it as an album review. it's not really even about swans but rather using them as an example to make a bigger point about the music culture
as an essay it is very nice (albeit kinda bloated) but i don't think it belongs to this particular website. people seem to enjoy it though so why not

Artuma, pal, you seem easily baffled and irritated by anything that doesn't say 'Duuuuuh I like this music' reviews. I think I've seen you dispense petty condescension on just about every non standard thread. Are you from Alabama?

Well, I was hoping people could read far enough to not treat it as a music review.. I mean hey, it's a music site, I guess I figured it would find a place here.. compost is right though, you seem bent on slagging..

"I think I've seen you dispense petty condescension on just about every non standard thread. Are you from Alabama?"
i think i've 'dispensed petty condescension' on one of your reviews but sure, it must be the same thing as doing it on 'just about every non standard thread'. i like giving feedback on reviews or parts of them i don't dig too much (and vice versa) and i've done that for very standard-following reviews as well. i'm just giving out my own thoughts which in no way are meant to be more 'correct' than any other opinion
