definitely one of the best songs, whether or not it's the best in general I'm not sure, need to give the album more listens. Young Love and You Got Spirit Kid were really the only songs I didn't like.

the last two songs are fantastic as well. Now I'm on the fence on which one is weaker, this or CBTS

Don't worry aside from the other two singles it doesn't really sound like that at all tbh

Yeah well Black Rainbow and No World For Tomorrow are underrated as fuck, at least they were a fuckton catchier than this.

you've got spirit is one of the worst songs they've ever written [2]

Yeah but emotional depth, quality of songwriting and musical technicality are far more important than catchiness (YOTBR is defs underrated though)

yeah I don't really understand why people hate Black Rainbow

I'm also seeing a lot of hate for Descension, which is weird considering the average for it is pretty decent. Sure Ascension was better but I thought Descension was fine.

That was my problem with this honestly, it was more catchiness over substance from what I remember. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and listen again sometime this week though.

there's plenty of substance imo. title track, the crowing, light and the glass, 21:13, all flow through different and contrasting sections pretty seamlessly. only 2 straight up pop songs (blood red summer and favor house) and those are so much fun you can't even care about that
