Thought this review was pretty cool. I'm always down for some dependable fun DM so I'll give this a bash.

review came off as condescending and fairly pretentious, not gonna lie. It mostly came off as "All of death metal sucks, but this band sucks less than their contemporaries I guess" which is fine if you think that, but the way it comes off to readers who actually like death metal is that you hate their taste and would suggest this band based on how shitty you believe their taste is.

That's actually kind of how I saw it but i'm also a Death/Black metal fanboy so I shouldn't get my panties in too big of a wad

@kingdede - well yeah but it might be an "old dogs / new tricks" type of deal. anyone who has read a bunch of Xeno reviews sorta knows the tone he comes in with. it's not for everybody, and tbh I highly doubt he'll flip his writing style upside down at this point.

I never know how to respond to a review like this. On one hand, I agree with the score. On the other, I agree with the score because so much other death metal is tons better, not because it's one of the few good albums in a shitty genre.
