on first listen i gave it a 4.5 cause it was powerful. but years later i realized i have not listened to anything hes done since. including older material i liked

Really good album. I’m still pitched between thinking he’s waging a war against songhood in a manner that successfully bolsters his expression of the artlessness, anythinglessness, of death—and thinking that these are just good, beautiful, lightly stunted choons. “Swims”!

mostly same with me @tyler but i still go through phases where i wanna listen to Dawn. that’s his best acoustic stuff by far to me

gah - cannot get into this even a little. Vocals are (I think) supposed to be vulnerable and genuine though I think they are just monotonous, lame, and not particularly well performed. Any of the good heavily emotional bits are shrouded by mountains of cringe.
