Much as I'm loving this on first listen it'll be a grower too as pretty much all Spoon albums are

Doof it's a hype rating (Phero did the same yesterday so I'm kind of copying him), I haven't listened all the way through yet but it's possible the rating could stick, who knows.

Pink Up starting now

Third track sounds like a Rolling Stones cover or something, it's....ok, I prefer it to the dance track.

Classic Spoon, I'm liking elements/parts of songs not whole songs. The end of track 3 is dope.

Tbf this is one of those bands where I kind of throw objectivity out the window entirely, they just give me the biggest hardons idk why

That's how Brand New is for me. They could release an album of Jesse Lacey eating frosted flakes and I'd insta-5 it.

Piano parts are cool on track 4, the song sounds like something Primal Scream would write, and that's always a shame for Doof

1. [3]

2. [4.5]

3. [3.5]

4. [3]

Spoon usually have 3 or 4 songs on each album I'd definitely want to own/download and the rest is never bad just a little middle of the road with some nice production twists.

Track 5 is also very good.

Ok Tear It Down is dropping the ball a tiny bit, looks like klap agrees too but it's still pretty good.

track 6 is the 'Rhythm and Soul' of the album...

...with Radiohead style string parts? I like R&S and Pyramid Song so I like this one a fair amount

Doof, 6 is closer to their earlier song I Turn My Camera On (from Gimme Fiction) than Rhythm and Soul to my ears.
