Still got mad love for El and Mike though and rather they still here in 2016 making records people enjoy than putting obscure shit no one hears. Good for them. They done their time.

ZdlR is the white diet pepsi version of Chuck D and has always been. This is undoubtly the best RTJ album tho from the beats, lyricism from El-P and Mike, just generally a far more focused effort and one with a clearer purpose other than a superduo of great MCs bragging and showing off their skills

ZdlR has never been seen as a great lyricist so no point in highlighting it. hes effective in other ways

This is a 'holding 5' in that my hunch is this is either a 4.5 or a 5. It's better than the last album and that settled at a 4.5.

Placing on my list? 2-5 I guess. FLOTUS will stay number one unless this grows on me a major amount (listened to it four times)

Do I enjoy listening to this more than 'Illmatic'? Yes. Do I prefer listening to 'X/O' rather than 'Abbey Road'? Yes. Sometimes you prefer a more 'current' album to an established golden oldie classic - who doesn't have examples of that phenomena?

ZdlR excels in presentation with a backing band, on his own he has little to nothing worthwhile about his work. Also, this is the first time I can actually sit through a RTJ album and not get bored, so congrats to this album I guess.

I like ZdlR as a performer but his lyrics are usually (there are a few noteworthy exceptions) pretty weak.

This guy came into a party once of his nuts on coke, real irritating and told us what an amazing verse ZDR had put down on RTJ2 literally 10 mins after wed just been laughing at how bad it was. Was quite awkward.
