Great review manosg, had to bump my rating. It really is one of the few worthwhile non-Mortiis dungeon synth albums out there, especially compared to all the dreck in this mini genre.

If Agalloch made an entire album out of the The Misshapen Steed or Foliorum Viridum it would sound like this. It's also like every awesome metal intro ever stretched out for 36 minutes.

There is some confusion on how this demo is supposed to be named, since there is no indication of an album title on the tape. On discog it's simply s/t, on rym they call it 'Demo II', on Sputnik it's 'Demo III'. Now I just read it was re-released this year on vinyl, entitled 'Mourning'.

@DungeonBoy: check out Mortiis - Keiser Av En Dimensjon Ukjent if you haven't already, the pinnacle of Dungeon Synth imho.

@Alastor thanks man, listening now. Sounds much more dungeony but I'm really enjoying the atmosphere on it. Much colder/darker/cavernous. Thanks for the rec I'll add it to my collection.

I never gave them a chance before cause I thought they were some goofy goth band with all of the prosthetics but this is solid.

Great rec by Alastor as always. Another album I've been enjoying lately which is quite similar to what have been recommended, is Elffor - Into The Dark Forest. It has some screaming vocals and is quite dark and majestic.

You know you’re a dungeon synth weirdo when you start jamming to the lo fi music on hold and get annoyed when your call gets answered and interrupts the track
