"Why feature something that is a 3.0 rating?
If I see something featured I figure it's something worth my time, not something that is slightly above average. Or it's a review of an extremely highly-anticipated album that people will want to see some initial opinions on. (new Radiohead or w/e)
This is not hating on the review itself, of course. Nor is it saying that you shouldn't review something because it falls in the middle for you. Simply questioning the thought-process of the feature."
I featured this because (1) most staff reviews are worth featuring and (2) because balance is important for any site that critiques music - that means the bad, mediocre, and above average albums are just as important to note as the cream of the crop.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have even commented since it's not a big deal at all, and what do I care really :-P I just found it odd. Meddling where I shouldn't and probably derailing the thread for no reason.
But since we're here, I'll agree that balance is important - I definitely don't think he shouldn't have -reviewed- it - I just don't think you have to feature middle of the road stuff to seem impartial or balanced. I don't think people will come here and think "oh they only give 4s and 5s to everything!" just because there's no 2.5s and 3s in the featured slots.
