I feel I'm slowly getting into these guys but when I first heard this album, one word kept on popping in my head - "pixies", "pixies", "pixies"...

Well obviously the Pixies are a big influence on MM but the lyrics, Isaac's voice, and overall sound completely separate the two bands for me.

yeah... i dont get why one would think that really. theres obviously a Pixies influence, as Vodash stated, but it's not an incredibly obvious one. plus theres a lot of uniqueness and creativity here

Well the sad thing for me is that I see a LOT of Pixies in MM. When I heard Breakthrough for the first

time I almost jumped.

And I hear a LOT of similarities in the voice. Actually, the voice and the vocal manner are the most

Pixies-like aspects on the album.

I hope to get over it though. I finished the album in it's entiriety for the first time just this day

during a 2-hour traffic jam.
