The Condition's second half is one of my favorite parts of the album, hands down.

Awesome review Futures, I have yet to get around to this, but I'll probably give it a spin tonight

Now here's a band I never would have thought would break out of the mold they stuck themselves into. Very cool. Listening tonight -- good review.

why is no one here addressing how bad the lyrics are

I listened to a few tracks off this. Do I think it is good for TDWP? Yes, but I don't think it is as good as everyone is saying. It seems like a solid album, and I could be too quick to judge, but there is nothing really special or new here for the metalcore genre.

eh...it's pretty good. It's far and away the best thing they've ever released, but it's still pretty stupid at points. Songs like Lock and Load were one big eye roll. Daughter is my favorite song on here. It's short, to the point, and most of all, a well written song. These guys need to do that more. Maybe one day they'll have a full length that is worth more than a 3.

The lyrics are really good though

Lock and Load, that's all I'm saying. I do appreciate that they try to be La Dispute at some points. The spoken word was well done for the most part.

Yep, I'm totally fine with them going in this ambient direction. I think with a little refinement, they make a really great album. Given how much I despise they're earlier albums, the fact that I have anything good to say about them is truly astounding.

First track and daughter are p good.

Spont on about mike finding his ideal voice. Last few albums he has sounded terrible. The vocals he uses (mid range, non of that awful low crap) sounds alright.

"I might have not got close." -> "I might not have gotten close."
"breakdown driven" - Hyphenated maybe?
"with a nice twist on it;* in fact it is better than that band's* latest disappointing effort"
"wide range of vocals" - Probably should be "vocal styles" instead.
"Hranica previously has had" - Just "had"
"vocal cords,* going from *more visceral high and low screams to his now more strained range."
"His vocals didn’t really find a true home in the more breakdown driven approach The Devil Wears Prada used to take." - Might want to avoid using breakdown-driven again and clean up the wording a bit here.
"polished enough,* which gives the music enough room to breathe.*"
"interesting ambiance* in behemoth"
"is once again reminding me" -> "reminds me once again"
"I have been listening to The Devil Wears Prada for a while now ever since their first album but I never expected" - Wording needs cleaning up.
"breakdown laden" - Depending on if you follow my earlier advice might want to either leave this or change it.
"bring in some listeners this band never had before." -> "gain the band some new listeners"
"from a fad mainly and logically evolve throughout their career" - wording needs cleaning up around the "fad mainly" part.
Good review, pos'd and hope you don't want to kill me for lawyering the shit out of this. Now I just need to get around to listening to it.
