Ethereal bodies

Clothed in serpentine

Are borne by hands

With sharp claws

Preying monsters throbbing

With a primitive rage

Lurking among the trees

That inhale and exhale

The wounded earth

Ill at heart

Rumbles and pours

Volcanic breath

The birds of prey

A beast-children army

Preparing to avenge

Their mother’s agony

'I don't think I've ever looked up any of Neige's lyrics. I kinda don't wanna know honestly, heightens the mystique of the music for me.'

Funny you say that because I have only looked up a couple ever. Voix Sereines and Oiseaux.

It never even occurred to me to read them. I like the idea of being unable to comprehend the language of the dream world.

Definitely the first time I've ever heard French referred to as the language of the dream world (:

The longer tracks on this still go by in a breeze, they are thoroughly engaging the whole way through, no wasted time.

I can't really fathom that they made another genius album in this style. I didn't think these things happened in real life.

A lot of things point to me being dreaming, though.

This whole album is a dream. Blew my expectations out of the water.

I wrote the metal band Alcest off after Shelter, for reasons I don't understand anymore. I really thought it was a permanent change of style.

I was probably traumatized by Opeth hahah

Haha that's understandable. I didn't know what we'd get either, but I gained massive hope as the singles started coming out.

Only listened to Je Suis D'Ailleurs prior to the release, and that only once. Made me really excited, but listening to the whole thing when it came out was something completely different. I was sold when the first chorus of the title track kicked in...

Title track is beautiful. It almost feels like a statement after Shelter to say they can keep that dreamy shoegaze sound, expound on it and be successful without the dynamic of harsh vocals that fans yearned for when Shelter came out.

And then delivered the harsh vox anyways in the other tracks, geez Alcest just stop winning my heart over.
