This shows again that any random dude or girl isn't able to do harsh vocals, like so many pop music guys claim.

I find it strange that they hired someone who basically had not practiced growling at all before joining them.

This band was sweet before the new vocalist, did the band really just kick the old chick out after she joined Arch Enemy? Now she's stuck with a shitty band and The Agonist became shitty

Yeah, pretty much this. Vicky is a decent enough vocalist, but this is just not the right style of music for her. This whole album is baffling from a vocal front; I have no idea what anyone was thinking.

Ugh this album is pretty gross. Did Alissa write the majority of their old work?

In terms of lyrics and vocal melodies, yeah she's written them all. On its face, some of the lyrics on Five are a bit generic, but then if you compare them to Prisoners or Lullabies...they're fucking awful.

The sad thing is from what i understand Alissa still wanted to continue with The Agonist while also Fronting with Arch Enemy, but they said no.

I guess The Agonist really wanted to keep a full time vocalist, which is kind of a stupid reason to me. I mean just look at and Chino and Anthony Green, they have so many different projects yet they still successfully divide the time up.

Maybe Alissa was the leader and told them when the stuff they were writing sounded like shit, but the new chick is just like oh man that is sooooo heavy and koooooool i luv metul lol!!!111

The irony if no one awards 'Five' a 5

Can't believe how bad the vocals are. Never thought Vicky sounded that bad. I guess it's one thing to do decent covers every now and then, but to actually maintain your voice through countless tours and recording sessions is another thing.

There will be at least one five. There's always one person that thinks they're funny.

Songwriting was way better on the Eye and she didn't growl a lot there.
