@wildcardbitchess what was the line that helped you get sober? I don’t think I ever asked, but I just reread your comment.
So the only two albums of theirs, I haven’t heard yet or from parts unknown in radical at this point. Still need to put more time into eX lives, but so far, this is definitely my favorite album of theirs. From what I’ve read, though, I could see radical topping it. We will see.

“I’ve done it all wrong for so long it feels okay…”
even years later I still remember hearing it for the first time

Yeah, dude, only an addict or alcoholic can truly grasp that line. I always think of that Modest Mouse line, the years go by fast but the days go by so slow.

I say that as I plan on getting blackout tonight but it’s very much an exception to the rule. I’m mostly sober these days. I usually only have a drink or two at shows but woman troubles got me down and I’m just not doing this sober tonight.
But yeah. Hearing that while cracking open my first beer of the day at like 7 AM really made me wanna get my shit together. I probably would’ve gotten “sober” eventually regardless, but that was a little extra push I probably needed

Big RIP to a legend. Bands early albums were huge for me getting into heavier stuff. Gonna check the later stuff that I’ve yet to hear

This is my favorite from them. And same for me, Combustion. Band was instrumental in my libe for metalcore and hardcore. Foundational.

tbh I’ve been crying on and off a lot today, I’ve also been very very drunk, idk man this hit me a lot harder than I would’ve ever expected it to. Plenty of musicians I’ve admired have passed away but this is the first one where it really feels like “one of us” to me.
Bo was pretty rough too but goddamn ETID has just been such a massive part of my life since I was like 13

I’ll probably bump my score today, this record is incredible. I definitely underrated cuz I wasn’t ready for such a mature ETID record when this came out. I was on some other shit lol

wish this one got a remaster because the songs are top tier. putney just butchered the production big time
edit: ok listening again and big time was an exaggeration but i still dislike how it sounds

My biggest problem w post 2012 ETID is the production. They sound too much like a metal band which I know is a silly complaint for a metalcore band, but I miss the “playful”/rawer vibe of the earlier records. That said, this album seriously has some top tier stuff in the catalogue. I’ve really been overlooking it
