every page on this thread needs to mention that the closing trilogy is utterly perfect.

I've been wanting to check Nick Cave and I was planning on checking The Firstborn Is Dead because I love Tupelo, should I check this instead? (Not gonna start with Let Love In so don't bother recing it.)

Push The Sky Away is a good starting point to specifically ease in to this album, but really Cave has a full discography of amazing, eclectic material so it's just a case of exploring.

This or Push The Sky Away would be good for Nick Cave newbies to try first, but whenever you want to make the commitment to check all his stuff I'd go with Murder Ballads or No More Shall We Part first.

There's no track on here called Distant Skies. There's one called Distant Sky, though, which is a wonderful track.

yea that one, it sucks

it's baffling that people go along with it

it was especially cringeworthy during the movie, what the hell were they thinking

@Ars Tupelo is one of my favorite songs ever written. Firstborn is Dead is brilliant, but the rest of the record doesn't sound much like Tupelo. That song's massive and maximalist, whereas the majority of FiD is very slowly rhythmic blues stomp-y
