Every Piece Matters was actually a really good song imo. I loved the main melody and the soloing throughout is superb. Every little nuance in the soloing just shows how tasteful he is with it (i.e. not just shredding for the sake of it). I admit I would have liked to see him expand on the song a little more, but I thought it was still a strong point of the album. Also, the climax of the title track is so good. I love that tasty riff that he sort of peppers in throughout the song. I also like how he brought back the riff in Cascade but with a little different spin to it.

I do what I want, mom.

His soloing is nuts. Tried learning some of his EP stuff a while back. Just as much time was spent learning nuances as was spent actually learning the solos up to speed. Don't know how he writes his solos tbh; his melodic mind is abnormal.

Of all the songs here Cascade sounds the most like it's inspired by Animals as Leaders. Not that that's a bad thing.

Interesting, since AAL also has a song called Kascade

As much as I love this, I still like The End of Everything the best of all of his works

Felt like something was missing on here that wasn't missing on the trilogy.

Maybe it was that I knew what to expect this time around?

"Maybe it was that I knew what to expect this time around?"

Basically. This uses a considerable amount of the ideas found on the trilogy which shouldn't be much of a surprise, because he did a LOT of experimenting on the trilogy.

This wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as the EPs. Had high hopes for this, ended up with a slightly above decent record tbh.

I like this so far. Reminds me of a mix of AAL and Chon. In a good way.
