Gets better and better with every listen. Amazingly structured songs, no standard 3 chorus routine, they often don't even use real choruses at all. This is why I love modern metal like them (or Textures, Meshuggah, first album of Threat Signal, August Burns Red (well more core-ish but still), Lamb Of God, also Cyanotic, Acumen Nation, Sybreed and earlier Mnemic, also post-metal, stoner doom etc.
After many years only knowing From Mars To Sirius (where I love every song on it) finally I checked out this one.
My song rating:
1. Oroborus (4.2)
2. Toxic Garbage Island (4.6)
3. A Sight To Behold (3.9)
4. Yama's Messengers (4.3)
5. The Silver Cord (4.0)
6. All The Tears (4.5)
7. Adoration For None (4.5)
8. The Art Of Dying (4.9)
9. Esoteric Surgery (4.0)
10. Vacuity (4.4)
11. Wolf Down The Earth (4.4)
12. The Way Of All Flesh (4.6)

--first album of Threat Signal,--
this is some gold standard. so upset they couldn't keep it going.

That drum intro on Art of Dying is so most odd time signature I have probably ever heard
This is definitely the album that's made me fully appreciate Mario's drumming. He does such a great job of making often time modest drum patterns sound incredibly full and intricate.

Also, A Sight to Behold rules so much. Just gotta say that since it gets no love.

I hate the vocal effect on that track. It's the only reason why I won't five this masterpiece.

[2] A Sight to Behold is my least favorite here for that very reason. It's like they tried to pull off a Cynic homage, but it doesn't land with their sound whatsoever.

Yeah, Sight to Behold rules. It used to be one of my least favorites when I was younger, but it's grown on me significantly since then

Funny how this, Traced in Air, and Planetary Duality all came out in the same year and they used vocoders better than most artists out there

2008 was a good year

I'd argue late 2000's were a fantastic year for metal in general tbh
Specifically between 2005-2012 both for metalcore and the more progressive regions of metal.

I saw on the previous page A Sight to Behold slander. It's honestly one of my favorite songs from the band.
