I never had a problem with Barone writing their shit. I've been a fan since before their EP came out and while they can't write a song worth a damn on their own they are fucking good at their instruments. Barone's basically been the 5th/6th/7th member (as they keep losing actual members) the entire time.

As much as it disappoints me that he's not gonna be releasing anything in the near future (or possibly ever), I can't be mad at this. He's talented, and more people in the genre need to start teaching music.

Since the band kicked him out he's been spilling all their dirty secrets. Apparently this guy Barone wouldn't even let them in the studio during the writing process, they just waited for him to finish writing music for them and then they recorded it and got most of the revenue. When the band said Dave hadn't put anything into their music creatively, and then said that they aren't even the primary songwriters I flipped my shit. I don't care how big and famous you are, if you don't write your own music, you don't deserve a single album sale. It's pretty disgusting when you think about it. And it's not like these guys are even very good live, when I saw them back in '14, I'm fairly sure they were using a backing track, and their bassist was fucking wasted. Dave was really trying but I could tell he was fucked as well, and their cleans guy, whatever his name is, was basically just a hype man for the entire performance
