a minute 30 interlude keeps this from being a 9/10?

Plus, the vocals are supposed to be fucked. Like, that's the whole thing with the interlude.

honestly be gone really kept this from a 5 for me as well so I could see knocking the rating down a bit cause of it, it kinda ruins the flow of the album. I understand a disruptive interlude i just think its pretty bad in this case, if it was like screamed vox then I probably would have 5'd this. I just don't get the vocal effect choice at all. There's nothing appealing about it and distracts from the instrumental hardcore.

I think its fine. Not essential to the album but its a cool little detour.

I don't remember where (may have been this site or even this review, idk) but when this came out I remember someone mentioning how the band was able to make an inimitable album with a lot of the production choices and a song like Be Gone is a good example of that. There's nothing quite like it. And with the kind of scene the band came up and through, that's pretty unique.

I don't mind it at all. @Zombie it would be badass with screamed vocals. Cool thought

Bumping this to a soft 4.5. Definitely growing on me more every time I listen, but I'm not sure if it'll ever be a 5 and not my least favorite.

my only problems with this album are that the end of Gasoline could go right into You Stole and work well. And that the last 3 songs or so don't need the crushed compression on the drums cuz it hurts mah ears. And "STONES IN YOUR EYES STONES IN YOUR EYES", if all that was fixed it's a 5 from me.

bed is pretty dull tbh, especially in comparison to the rest of the record

Sink is the only other song that’s never really grabbed me but at its worst this is still pretty good

I used to think I hated bed, but over the years, Bed is one of the only Brand New songs that will just out of nowhere pop into my head out of nowhere when its quiet and I'm not doing anything. I was talking with sowing awhile back and he said the same thing. Makes me question whether I actually dislike it.
