Well, the backlash of the single comes from fans of their earlier stuff. I take it you've not heard the DMC soundtrack? It's just an evolution from that imo. But, once you get to track 4 onwards I really think it branches out and mixes a lot of the harsh metal stuff with their electronic stuff really well; where as the first 3 tracks are pretty standard metal stuff.

Plus, this review comes from someone who enjoyed their early stuff, but never really thought it was anything special. The DMC soundtrack onwards is where I've really grown to appreciate them. Let us know what you think of it if you listen to it though, man!

Really good review, even if I think this is just awful, but they never were all that great to begin with.

Love combichrist. Only heard glitch teeth so far. It has such a great 90s vibe, sounds exactly like something I might have listened to back then

This is some of the corniest shit I've ever listened to. I would maybe like this if I was 12.

sry gonzobro i luv ya

but this is barely listenable.

i mean the music itself is ok but damn the lyrics are abysmal and up front so you cant really ignore them for the most part. vocals overall are sometimes very distracting too. some odd production there.

fortunately the second half of the disc is way better.

black tar dove part. 1 reminds me of the nono cat lmao.

overall i feel like the pros slightly outweigh the cons of this so i will give it a 3.0 for now

It gets better in the second half, agreed. But I'm still thoroughly enjoying this, even if the lyrics are abysmal for 80% of it. I think he has a pretty cool vocal range/style.

ye its enjoyable throughout but i could never rate this 4.5 like you did. its way to industrial metal by the numbers and has to many flaws for that.

Depends how much you like industrial metal. lol I live for it, and this year has had a good amount of albums from it too. All round: good year.

My Life My Rules was almost offensively bad and really made the rest of the album an uphill battle. But it does admittedly get more cohesive and "fun" as you get through it

Agreed, My Life My Rules is probably the worst thing here. I don't think people give the second half of the album a decent chance, it's quite different to the first half and gives old a fans at least something to take away from it.

This album just gets better and better for me the more I go back to it. Think I enjoy it even more now than I did when it got released.
