Goddamn. Elseq is still growing. Even after 20 or 30 listens. I guess I'll check their live stuff at some point.

But I'm finding NTS pretty immediate.

So those 30 hour live recordings...
They're much easier to get through than I thought they'd be because of the length (Good thing). I wonder how much of these recordings is things that developed into elseq/nts sessions, and I'm wondering if these are mostly on-the-fly compositions or set compositions (Which they mutate around a bunch) specifically for live settings. They reuse motifs a bunch (like the squeeky synths ~13 mins into the Montreal set or the slinky bass from ~38 mins into the Brussels set, both of which are things they do a lot of the performances sometimes in similar time frames) so there's for sure at least some map out.

This is the kinda music that urges me to get into some kinda focused listening flow state. Don't know if that makes sense.

I was so intimidated by this I just stopped after Exai for a few weeks on my AE journey.
Just finished 5 today, but haven't listened to every minute of 3. Easily the worst one atm.
Also fuck yeah Gwyn, Freulaeux is such a banger.

Elseq and NTS sessions are Autechre's second peak to me after Confield and Draft.

"So which elseq is best?"
Always liked 4 the most

This does not sound psychedelic but makes me feel like I've dropped too much acid.

Got through this in one sitting today. I thought it would be far more challenging than it was but that's not to say it was easy by any stretch. A lot of wildly good stuff here.
