I think this is alright from what I've heard, but great review.

well at least fantano has the correct score on this
|
| |
so yeah this is bad but Angles rules
it is not correct to state that The Strokes don't have any good material after their first album or two
|
| |
there is an album's worth of stellar material split across First Impressions, Angles and Comedown Machine
|
| |
You Only Live Once
Juicebox
Heart in a Cage
On The Other Side
Vision of Division
Electricityscape
Machu Picchu
Under Cover of Darkness
Taken For A Fool
Gratisfaction
All the Time
Welcome to Japan

The strokes used to be the prodigal son of Garage-rock, i liked almost every song in the first two album, but now...

>Casablanca's amp-fed vocals are as devoid of personality as they've ever been
This is when I knew I wasn't going to agree with the review no matter what.

this is an EP for people who hate the concept of songwriting

Threat of joy is a nice little tune but the rest of this is pretty bad yea, this is almost a 2.3 for me tbh. Shockingly this is the only strokes i've heard.

Wowzas. This group's sound usually isn't as scatterbrained like it is here. I'd jam Is This It? and maybe Angles or First Impressions. The rest is pretty disposable.

I hate the idea of this album, and the intro but to the last track is fucking horrid, but I can't help but enjoy the choruses on every track so much.

If they're gonna a pick a track in here to put in their Best Ofs it's probably gonna be OBLIVIUS.
|
| |
Threat Of Joy isn't so bad but this has almost no replay value.

More than a year after its release, I finally found the courage to listen to this. As someone to whom the Strokes were an early and formative musical love, this was painful :/
