Ive been surronded by people who are either all for her or against her, she is possibly one of the pop industry's most discussed figures for just how awful of a person she is while simultaneously having a large following of people who actually thing shes good.
i still remember the reddit thread raging at her for her comment saying she "tried being anorexic"
either it was pure happening or all super calculated by people who have been keeping track of the internet sicne the "gamergate" movement became a thing I dont think you can really deny she hasnt been the center of attention every step of the way.

pop music has a lot more relevance than petty ass, idiotic drama over the "integrity" of video game journalism, however. when something "controversial" happens in the pop industry it stays around for a couple of years at worst and becomes the basis of an entire artist's career at best.
Im sure Meghan Trainor will most likely be the former, unless her marketing team knows how to continue riding the drama wave she currently is riding to the top of the charts atm.
