Memphis May Fire isn't that bad, they're actually quite good; they've just gotten a little generic recently. Matty is still a beast behind the mic.

This has slightly more tolerable moments than the band's debut. It's an improvement over S/T, although that isn't saying much. These guys still have quite a few issues to work out if they're ever going to get my seal of approval - and now I see myself out.
Also, Flojo isn't half-bad.

"Everyone says that they fail to be creative and experiment but I can't think of another band that melds R&B and metalcore like these guys. What gives?"
what gives is that modern metalcore is inherently a vapid, vacuous exercise in triteness and derivativeness. it's a rehash of a rehash of a rehash of a simplification of musical ideas and compositions that were done much better by other bands in other genres. incorporating elements of other genres into it is just like sprinkling some sugar or spice onto a plate of drab fucking gruel. i.e. you're better off just having the sugar or spice and skipping the gruel entirely.
honestly i'd never heard of this band previously but after listening to couple of songs i have no clue how this album justifies having 5 reviews in just a few days. it's certainly not good, but it's also not that bad. more generic metalcore for the pile, what else is new in the world
inb4 lol elitism or something i guess

There's a plethora of influences in this park; I could understand not liking this, but it's really not generic at all. Their debut was arguably generic (but super fun), but this really branched out.

edited a bit for clarity

Okay now that you edited it a bit I can see the point you were trying to make.
I think a lot of the influences are more than just sprinkled on though; especially the RnB elements.

I want to 4 this cause of the catchiness and how the band doesn't take themselves seriously one bit but I can't get over some of the cringey lyrics and lack of memorable guitar parts

yeah this is actually not super shitty

Album is good I guess but the only standout track is The Realest, literally the only thing on here that is even comparable to like Stingray Affliction or Never Lose Your Flames.

Been jamming this non stop for the past day or so, it gets better the more I listen to it.

tbh Stingray Affliction and Never Lose Your Flames were really boring for me, I much preferred Late, Life of a Nine, Langdon House, Tears on the Runway, Disappear, etc. on the S/T
Lost-n-Found is so good

This is one hell of an improvement from their s/t, but it still fails to be cohesive, and well, good. It has good moments, but I think as a whole, it's to busy trying to do fifty different genres at once. I think these guys have serious talent, but they need to pick a sound and stick with it. Preferably not generic chuggy metalcore mixed with rapping.

This is growing on me from a light 4 to a solid 4.
Blue Wall is still fucking terrible but otherwise this is one of my favorite albums I've heard this year so far.

I didn't expect Sputnik to rank this so low wow

I expected them to rank it lower.
I'm happy it's at a 3.3 currently at least.
@Dragon: "They all sound the same" naw bruh

I went into this thinking I could enjoy at least enjoy every other song or so... The Realest, COMA and Slow Me Down stood out as being tolerable. I'm listening through again. I mean what the fuck, they have some potential but again they fall short.

There's moments of some really cool influences. However, the album as a whole heavily lacks cohesion and direction. The lyrics are also pretty awful but I applaud their attempt at trying some new things. Perhaps in a record or two they can tighten their sound and make a more focused project.

Slow Me Down is fucking great, Tyler's voice is awesome with some of the surprisingly low notes he hits while bouncing off Michael.
