I totally forgot about this album. And actually, listening to it now, I like it a lot more. Its like organized chaos.

Hmmm, you have me interested... if there influenced by Cynic and Atheist, I will definitely be checking em' out.

This isn't a band that you can easily like, but I find it's still a lot easier to get into than most death metal.
Good review, great band. Favorite song is Fountainhead, for sure...makes the most sense to me

I don't have soulseek.

I have the CD on mp3, plus the bonus track, do you have MSN?

I don't really like this album because the band don't seem very together to me, the vocals are so cheesy as well. However, I'd buy this album for the bass because it's just really really cool.

I don't care much for this. The vocals are cheesy as all hell, and the band seemed so determined to be as technical as possible that they forgot the music is supposed to sound good as well.

This CD is amazing.
However, the bass tone is the most awful thing I've ever heard. He might be good, but his tone seriously sucks. I've heard better bass sounds in lesbian porns.

i just got this cd. it seems like the bass playing from cynic, watchtower-esque guitars, fates warning vocals, and like king crimson influenced drumming . . . i give it a 4/5, the minus one for what most people have said: technical wankery . . .

I think this album is a classic, even if it is 70% pure wankery.

When I first heard SPIRAL ARCHITECT I was so blow away by the total package that I listened to the album consistently for quite some time. And, I thought to myself that I hadn't been this excited about a new musical innovation since the first time that I heard Queensryche's Rage For Order album back in High School. So, I'm looking through the credits of the 'SA' dics and I notice that the producer's name is Neil Kernon.....Turns out that this is the same guy who produced Queensryche's Rage For Order album 14 years earlier. LOL. Now, a producer is in no way responsible for writing a band's material, but a good producer can alter a band's 'core sound' and direction pretty significantly. And, maybe that's what this Neil Kernon brings to the table. Because, I had the same feeling of total ‘awe’ when listening to two different albums produced by the same dude, many years apart. Then, recently, I go and look at who mixed the AGHORA records and it’s Neil Kernon once again. And, I kid you guys not when I say that the FIRST AGHORA album is on the SAME very high plane as this Spiral Architect disc. These two albums are the most, complex and appealing musical statements that I've EVER heard. But, there's several 'second rung' bands definitely worth checking out. I'll name a few that might interest folks who can vibe with 'SA'. Thought Chamber, Spheric Universe Experience, Watchtower, The Thinking Principle, Psychotic Waltz, Atheist and Cynic.
